Galvin Brasserie de Luxe Restaurant

住在鄉下小鎮的壞處之一就是好餐廳難找。愛丁堡是大城市,一定有很多好餐廳。到愛丁堡前的一週,我就在Galvin Brasserie De Luxe訂了位子,準備大快朵頤。一個人吃飯有點哀傷,不過沒差,我是去吃美食的。

One of the disadvantages of living in a small town is that it's hard to find a really good restaurant. Edinburhg, a big city, undoubtedly has many good restaurants. A week before I went to Edinburgh, I booked a table in Galvin Brasserie De Luxe and was prepared for a feast. It was rather sad to dine in a good restaurant alone. Never mind. I was there for food, after all.

麵包有點冷掉了。

The breads were somewhat cold.  


但是加鹽奶油超讚!吃完麵包之後,服務生問我還要不要再來一點麵包,我說不用。不過現在想起來真是悔恨!第一口嘗到的是濃郁溫純的奶味,然後鹹味慢慢浮現。我可以把整盅奶油嗑光! 
But the butter was fabulous!! The waitress offered to serve some more breads, but I refused. I should have said yes! The butter was salted. At the first bite, you tasted richness and then slight savoriness. I could have used up all the butter! 


油封鴨腿佐血腸、血橙、甜菜根、北非小米
外皮酥脆,肉質軟嫩,只能說主廚的功力比我高多了,他贏了!QQ

Confit Duck Leg, Boudin Noir, Cous Cous, Beetroot & Blood Orange
The skin was crispy and the meat was tender. I could only say that chef made better food than I could. He/she won.

我一直都沒很喜歡椰子。但是百香果舒伏蕾跟椰子冰淇淋意外合拍。冰淇淋的甜味中和了百香果的酸。熱熱的舒伏蕾和沁涼的冰淇淋,讚!

Passion Fruit Soufflé, Coconut Ice Cream
I am not a fan of coconuts. But the passion fruit souffleé tasted surprisingly good with the ice cream! The sweetness of coconut ice cream softened the sharp acidity of passion fruit. Hot soufflé and chilled ice cream, nice!  


好在我只點主菜和甜點,吃完這兩道我就撐死了。

Fortunately, I'd only ordered a main course and a dessert. I was so full after having these two dishes.
